Pregnancy Knot: Amanda Rabon

How far along are you in your pregnancy?
38 weeks + 4 days

How are you feeling physically?
I get tired easily, I think I might be starting to waddle, but otherwise I'm feeling good. I have pressure from time to time on my pubic bone from Baby's head being at zero station (especially first thing when I wake up in the morning). I have Braxton Hicks contractions and maybe some of the real deal with some frequency.

How are you feeling emotionally?
Impatient. But my heart is overflowing with joy at the prospect of holding our sweet baby soon! We lost two babies prior to this pregnancy, so the idea of being able to have this pregnancy come full circle and to actually get to hold this baby is such a miracle. Feeling excitement and not fear about childbirth.

How have you been preparing for childbirth?
Using more apps than is probably healthy to get every bit of knowledge (Sprout Pregnancy, Baby Center, My Pregnancy, Web MD Pregnancy and The Bump). I also read Ina May's Guide to Childbirth by Ina May Gaskin as well as doing the online childbirth course through Baby Center. We also watched "The Business of Being Born" early on in this pregnancy to decide what method felt the best for us.

What do you love most about being pregnant?
The incredible bond I feel with our baby. I love every little movement I feel and getting to know our baby while he or she is growing inside me. I think our baby is hilarious already and has such a personality. I'm going to miss feeling these movements when Baby is born. (Though cuddling a newborn sounds like a pretty fair trade off :) )

Any cravings?
I haven't really had cravings in the stereotypical sense. No sending Stephen to the store or restaurant at crazy hours to get that one thing "I need or I'll die." I've been open to the power of suggestion more than anything. A friend mentioned Apple Cinnamon Cheerios and I went and bought them the next day cause they sounded so good.

What makes you feel the best right now?
Sitting on the couch with my husband's head on my belly. Warm showers. And every time my husband says I'm beautiful or how excited he is to meet our baby.

Anything else you'd like to share with pregnant mamas?
Enjoy every minute. Pregnancy is a blessing and we too often take for granted that we will get pregnant or that we will stay pregnant. Cherish every movement, every milestone and every symptom - they all mean that you are blessed beyond measure though it may not feel like it.
