What does breastfeeding mean to me?
Breastfeeding means I'm giving my baby absolutely the very best.
What has been your biggest breastfeeding challenge?
My biggest challenge I've had in my 3 plus years of breastfeeding was breastfeeding through pregnancy and tandem nursing. I wanted to do it, and I tried, but it's not for me. I give props to mommas who do it, but I'm just not one of them.
What do you love most about breastfeeding?
I love the closeness. I love that I can soothe any boo-boo, dry any tear, and make my baby feel comforted with just nursing her. I also love taking that time where we reconnect. It does my heart good too.
Who or what has offered you the most support?
With my first, my doula was amazing! And with my second, my doula turned midwife helped me again. I would say my biggest supporter though, is my husband. He has encouraged me, helped me and continues to always be by my side.
Any advice for other mothers who want to bf?
Keep at it. Don't give up. It's so worth it. Surround yourself with only positive and when seeking advice, seek it from people that know what your heart desires and if breastfeeding is important they will help you continue your journey.
